Designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2003 the Thousand Islands - Frontenac Arch is a 150,000 hectare reserve covering much of Leeds County and some of Frontenac County. The reserve harbours a variety of wildlife and forms a land bridge connecting the Algonquin Park to the Adirondack region.
